Harry Potter Subscription Box Review
We found a number of subscription boxes dedicated to JK Rowling’s world of wizardry. The GeekGear Harry Potter subscription box grabbed us because they apparently work with Warner Bros to bring licensed, exclusive merchandise. It focuses on both Harry Potter™ and Fantastic Beasts™. GeekGear have a range of subscription boxes available. This review relates to their World of Wizardry monthly subscription box, available via their website and on the Cratejoy marketplace.
Options and Pricing
There are actually two World of Wizardry subscription boxes available from GeekGear – a variety box and a wearable box. The latter contains t-shirts, hoodies, etc, with exclusive designs. We’ve limited this review to the variety box that includes an exclusive t-shirt each month, as well as other merchandise such as collectibles, postcards, apparel and wall art. There are only two preferences that can be set: the size of the t-shirt (with a good range of sizes for adults and children) and your preferred Hogwarts House (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin) for customisation of the box.
A single month’s subscription costs £19.99. GeekGear also offer 3, 6 and 12 month subscriptions which scale down to £16.99 per month for the longest duration. It’s a shame that you seem to have to prepay to get the reduced prices. We’d prefer to see a reduction for simply committing to a longer term monthly subscription.
Selection and Quality
We liked the packaging of the Harry Potter™ subscription box, with a different design each month. However, it’s understandably difficult to provide a good selection of relevant content every month. As an example, a candle and a bath bomb in our chosen house colours. They seem more like box fillers than quality Harry Potter™ merchandise. That said, it’s great receiving a uniquely designed t-shirt each month.
